Food Donors are organizations and businesses who choose to donate their surplus of perishable foods which would otherwise end up in the trash.

Be A Food Donner Partner

Food Donor Partners let us know when there is food to be rescued and we will take care of the rest!  We can help setup rescues based on current donation schedules, create new weekly rescues, and even random rescues 7 days a week!

Our simple process minimizes the impact of food recovery on our donor partners operations, allowing them to maximize their impact on their communities and giving them the benefits of reduced waste management costs and lowering their carbon footprint.

Our donor partners range from large food distributors to small mom-and-pop stores, restaurant chains, farmers markets, and even other nonprofits! No matter how big or small the donor or donation, every partner has a significant impact. Our donor partners include: …

Be a Food Rescue Hero

The Prince William Food Rescue Hero App will send push notifications to your phone of available rescues based on the settings you determine when setting up your profile, including days of the week, weekends, and hours of the day

Our volunteers are the essential link between the donor and distribution sites: they make the work happen. Once a donor has made a donation available and a distribution site has agreed to accept it, all volunteer drivers will receive an alert on their phone through the app. They can then agree to take the rescue or to pass.

You can volunteer as much or as little as you like: food rescue heroes select either weekly or one-time rescues that are available through the app. Pick ups happen daily with an average distance of 5 miles and takes about 30 minutes of your time. Download our app (iOs or Android) to get alerts on rescues near you!

Food Distributors Partners are non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations who are able to accept food donations.

Be a Food Distribution Partner

Food Distributors are also able to control when and what food is accepted. A Distribution Partner representative must sign for the delivery within the app on the Food Rescue Hero’s phone. Once received, the Non-Profit is completely responsible for how the food is distributed.

Partnerships with Housing Authorities, School Districts, Family Centers and others, have brought fresh food to neighborhoods and communities with no access to fresh food. We bridge the last mile in food access — we go to where people are.

No cold storage – no problem!  Receive perishable foods only when you can immediately distribute it.  Distribution Partners can be Donor Partners as well
